PORTLAND, Ore. — Voters in the Portland Public Schools district overwhelmingly re-elected Julia Brim-Edwards to the school board Tuesday.
Brim-Edwards had more than 80% of the vote over her two opponents, Matthew Margolis and Libby Glynn for the Zone 6 seat.
“We have huge challenges ahead, including safely re-opening schools this fall and continuing our relentless pursuit of more equitable outcomes for all our students,” she said in a news release. “As the most senior Board member, I am excited to be part of the team — applying my leadership to help guide this work for our students. I will bring my experience and proven record of results and of working with parents across the city to the table as we redouble our commitment to success for all students and carry forward a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our schools.”
